Carrera Sunglasses

After decades of being aimed solely at professional athletes for which it produced a wide variety of top of the notch goggles, helmets and sunglasses, Carrera Sunglasses was purchased in 1996 by the Italian fashion enterprise Safilo Group and were relocated in Italy.
Once the takeover was completed, Carrera Sunglasses received a full makeover and now directs its products to a wider variety of customers. The company was split into two departments, the first continuing to produce sunglasses and headgear for professional athletes, mainly cyclists and skiers. With the second department came the expansion of Carrera Sunglasses, as it is a complete fashion and lifestyle department.
The design of Carrera sunglasses draws its inspiration from the fashion of the 60s and 80s, featuring large frames and lenses and reminding of the Ray Ban Aviator and Wayfarer. Some of the most successful models are the Carrera Champions and Carrera Hippy sunglasses, both of unisex design but probably aimed more at women.
The Carrera Champions offer a superb synergy of sports eyewear and an extremely fashionable design while the Carrera Hippy have a distinct 60s feel to them reminding us of legends like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.
The popularity of Carrera Sunglasses is indisputable as stars ranging from football players to movie stars love to wear them. Celebrities like David Beckham, Paolo Maldini, Lady Gaga(which even has a model named after her), Sofia Bush, Leonardo DiCaprio, Pink, Kylie Minogue, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Joe Jonas, Jessica Stroup, Francesca Sanford, Audrina Patridge and many more have been spotted wearing Carrera sunglasses at various events.
Even though the lifestyle department offers items that are more of a fashion statement, Carrera sunglasses come with UV protection and polarized lenses to protect the eyes and allow you to see more. Carrera Sunglasses offer a unique glamour to the wearer making them very popular in high life circles and not only. Even with competitors like Ray Ban, Police, Gucci, Dior, Armani and others, Carrera sunglasses are still favored by many, due to their unique combination of high end materials, extremely fashionable designs, tremendous variety and price accessibility.
