It all started in the 1950s when possibilities seemed limitless. Back then the grandfather of the founders owned a ladies-wear company and he instilled in his grandchildren the passion for making good, quality clothing. The decisive moment came in 1986 when the brothers Johannes and Alexander Graah paid their first ever visit to a jeans factory. In 1995 Morten Graah (their father) was running a franchise for another big jeans company and the two brothers were sent to Oxford where they would study everything about running a business. Finally in 2003 all their decade-long plans were set into motion and Dr. Denim Jeans was born out of their love for clothing.
And that’s what Dr. Denim stands for - any customer can see that every item is made with the love and passion that only a handful of other people can put in designing and manufacturing high quality jeans. After that, the brand just took down any barriers and limits set by the fashion world and went out to create some of the best jeans in the world. Their first signature product (which can still be found today, thankfully), is the Unagi model, a name that has made history for the jeans world in recent years.
The quality of materials used by Dr. Denim Jeans is undoubted; the long and arduous process of selecting the right material always ends up in the same place. The Graah family members are also the testers for every model that comes out of the factory, if the owners are not happy with the comfort, look and durability, the product does not go on the market.
The designing process also follows along the same line, with the addition of the belief that any item of clothing should look good for the sake of it. The designers always set out to achieve the most incredible products in jeanswear. And with that in mind, the incredible success achieved by Dr. Denim becomes quite easy to understand. It would be impossible to not be successful when you use only the finest materials, the newest and most beautiful designs, have two brilliant businessmen with a real passion for jeans, and care deeply about the comfort and affordability, making the customer the most important part of the whole jean manufacturing and selling cycle."
